The Maputo International Fair, the largest trade fair in Mozambique, on Monday begins its 55th edition in Ricatla, in the Marracuene district of Maputo province, with the participation of 20 countries, as well as Macau.
The organising body, the Investment and Export Promotion Agency (Aipex), expects more than 87,000 people to visit the event by the time it closes on 1 September, more than double the 40,000 who visited in 2018.
The Domingo newspaper reported that the confirmed countries are Portugal, Italy, Germany, Spain, France, Brazil, Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea, India, Turkey, China, Belarus, South Africa, Botswana, Mauritius, Egypt, Argentina and Great Britain, which signed up at the last minute, as well as the territory of Macau.
Of these, Portugal and Germany occupy the largest exhibition area, followed by South Africa, Indonesia and Thailand, according to the Mozambican newspaper.
