Hip hop and R&B Slam Tour Workshop with Masandi
Sandile “Masandi” Mfusi started singing in church and was introduced to rhythm and blues by his aunt who had a love for Teddy Pendergrass, Marvin Gaye and Mariah Carey. A social science graduate, from Umlazi, Masandi cites many influences for his style including hip hop and new age R’n B.
Masandi is the first R’&B artist signed under K.O‘s CashTime Records. Before that he used to be part of a hip hop group called Niche Fam which had a huge following in Durban. They opened for Lil’ Wayne, performed at the COP17 summit and other huge events in the city.
Masandi met K.O in 2014 in Durban at a party he had been performing at. The crooner decided to stick around as he’d heard that K.O would perform later in the evening. Masandi approached K.O and suggested they collaborate on a track or two and was surprised to learn that K.O had heard of him and his music.
