Ex-Guinea minister charged with laundering bribes goes to trial
Maria Helena Taipo is the Governor of Sofala Province since 2015. Before being pointed as Governor, she was the Provincial Director of work in Nampula and, in 2005 was the Minister of work. In 2015, when confrontations between governmental forces and RENAMO armed men were taking place in Sofala, Maria Helena Taipo played an important role managing to bring together the parts for negotiation.
