Watch: Tanker explosion death toll rises to 100 - Mozambique
A real water crisis is coming to Maputo, Matola and Boane municipalities.
From tomorrow, January 10th, the Maputo Water Department will restrict water supply, giving absolute priority to human consumption. The restrictions will consist of water supply only on alternate days.
This follows a communication from the Regional Administration of Águas do Sul (ARA-Sul), explaining that the two-year drought and persistent weak rainfall has lowered the volume of water in the Pequenos Libombos Dam on the Umbelúzi river, the main source of water for treatment and distribution to the three municipalities.Source: TVM
