Mozambique: Bangladeshi trader brutally murdered in Govuro - report
O País / Bernardino Rafael, Police Commander in the city of Maputo
Two weeks after the murder of Portuguese businessman Joaquim Malagueira, owner of the Soundlight company, police in the city of Maputo have confirmed that they have detained three suspects.
The information was released yesterday by Bernardino Rafael, Police Commander in the city of Maputo, who said that the arrest of the three was still to be legalised yesterday.
Rafael said that the businessman was murdered by people he worked with who were unhappy with their remuneration.
“This case has already been 100 percent clarified and the perpetrators have been detained and their arrest will be confirmed by a court still today (Monday). The people who committed the crime have been identified, without question.”
The Portuguese businessman had lived alone since his arrival in Mozambique in 2007. He was tied to a chair and drowned in his own bathtub.
