South Africa’s Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) reported that they have arrested a 41-year-old man after he tried to sell explosives to a police officer.
According to the Hawks, 41-year-old Mozambican, Fransisco Bowoza Fumo was arrested by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) after he tried to sell the explosives to a police officer at the KG Mall in Vosman (Mpumalanga).
Fumo appeared before the Vosman Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, February 2 following his arrest on Wednesday for attempting to sell the explosives.
According to Lieutenant Dineo Sekgotodi of the Hawks, Fumo only went to take them after he was shown money by the police.
The 41-year-old Mozambican Fransisco Bowoza Fumo arrested by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) after he tried to sell explosives to a police officer at the KG Mall recently.
He was found in possession of explosives and detonators estimated at the value of R85 000.00. Investigations to determine the origin of the explosives and a possible link to other crimes in and around the area are underway.
Fumo remained in custody after he was denied bail by Vosman Magistrate’s Court on Thursday. The suspect will appear again at the same court on Monday, February 13 for a formal bail application.
