The government’s Institute for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises (IPEME) has invested more than three million meticais ( around US$50,000) in agricultural processing, production and value chain projects in Manica province, with a total of 23 agro-livestock projects financed in various districts.
Bernardo Manguele, head of the Business Orientation Centre, said the financing was having significant impact.
“We saw that, after funding, companies were able to increase investment,” Manguele said, adding that the financing had delivered positive social impact, and beneficiaries were able to repay the sums.
Beneficiaries said that IPEME funding had added value to their projects.
