The Sasol group plans to build an industrial park near natural gas exploration sites in Temane and Pande in Inhambane province in southern Mozambique, daily newspaper Diário de Moçambique writes.
Sasol is now preparing an environmental impact study of an area of 70 hectares with plots for a series of public services and companies to provide services in the field of natural gas extraction.
“In addition to other actions on the ground, Sasol has requested an environmental impact study,” Sasol’s Ailton Rego told the Mozambican Information Agency.
One concern, he said, was the eradication of 11 hectares of various plant species. Other changes the constructor considered minor and easy to address.
