The Mozambican prime minister, Carlos Agostinho do Rosario, has travelled to the Egyptian city of Sharm El Sheik for the 2017 Business for Africa Forum, a three-day event aimed at promoting a greater flow of investment and trade in Africa.
The prime minister’s agenda includes a panel discussion on China-Africa cooperation relations and a meeting with the president of Egypt, Abdel Fattah Al Sisi.
The event, which is sponsored by the Egyptian president under the motto “Driving Investments for Inclusive Growth”, brings together more than 1,000 invited guests, including heads of state and government, heads of African companies and young entrepreneurs.
The forum is being held under strict security to prevent the occurrence of terrorist attacks.
The forum’s programme is designed to provide as many opportunities for interaction on issues of economic interest as possible, with the first day marked by activities for Young Entrepreneurs of Africa 2017 day.
According to the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), a regional organisation that plays a leading role in economic development, it is time for Africa to start to take better advantage of its economic opportunities, for their countries and peoples.
