The Mozambican government has increased the prices of gasoline and kerosene with effect from tomorrow, Wednesday.
In a press release issued today in Maputo, the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy announces that gasoline is to go up from 57.58 to 59.52 meticais, and kerosene from 40.11 to 43.32 meticais.
The prices of cooking gas and diesel remain at 58.04 meticais per kilo and 53.38 meticais per litre, respectively.
The price of compressed natural gas (CNG) increases from the current 27.74 to 28.22 meticais per litre equivalent
“The change in the price of fuels and other petroleum products arises from the Government’s full application of the legislation on the matter,” reads the text.
The legislation states that it is necessary to revise the retail prices on a monthly basis whenever there is a change in the base price of more than three percent or if there is a change in taxes.
The last adjustment of the price of fuels and other petroleum products was on September 20.
