Portugal, Brazil and South Africa will among the countries present at MozTech, Mozambique’s technology fair, which runs from Wednesday to Friday in Maputo.
“The idea is to create a space to debate the impact of technology on the citizen and on business,” Enoque Massango, executive director of MozTech, told Lusa.
With the rise of digital age technologies also evident in Mozambique, the organization believes that “the debates will be of great value to the country”.
The fair will have more than 50 speakers, a third from abroad.
The event is now it its fourth edition and has an exhibition area featuring some of the main technology companies operating in Mozambique. Firms in banking, mobile communications, among other sectors, will showcase their latest products.
According to the organisation, the three previous editions have brought 20,000 people to Maputo, and for this year’s fair, themed “Digital age: a new way of living and doing business”, is expected to draw 10,000 participants.
