Women and children on the run from alleged armed group seek refuge with police - Mozambique
National Road Number One at Boquisso, in Maputo province’s Marracuene district, is degraded along its entire extent, threatening road safety and affecting transport capacity.
The section in question is of vital importance, given that it serves several neighbourhoods in the Marracuene and Municipality of Matola expansion area.
Mira Isabel, a teacher in Boquisso, comes from the Manhiça, and paints a desolate picture of the state of the road, especially as it affects the already irregular passengers transport services.
Miramar TV tried unsuccessfully to obtain a reaction from the National Road Administration’s central communication office, and similarly by phone from the entity’s Maputo provincial delegation.
