Beverage company Sumol+Compal Mozambique has made progress in exporting to South Africa since last year, the company said on Tuesday.
“The outcome has been positive. We are able to prove that in South Africa it is possible to sell high-quality juices, different to those that the consumer is used to,” Fernando Oliveira, who represents the Portuguese brand in Mozambique, said during an official visit by Portugal’s secretary of state for internationalization, Eurico Brilhante Dias, to the factory.
“We started in one only country and now we are in five,” Oliveira said. “That shows that the results are positive.”
The soft drink brand was awarded the exporter of the year award on Monday by Mozambique’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
The Sumol+Compal Mozambique factory officially started up five years ago and has capacity to produce up to 20 million litres of juices a year.
