Mozambique: Economy improves, not enough to change rating - consultants

Mozambique and Swaziland are to cooperate with each other and provide mutual assistance in the modernisation of tax administration in specific areas, with a view to more effective compliance with tax and customs legislation.
The tax administrations of the two countries recently signed a memorandum of understanding in the Swazi capital, Mbabane, to establish cooperation in tax and customs matters.
The memorandum was signed by the President of the Tax Authority, Amelia Nakhare, and the General Commissioner of the Tax Authority of Swaziland, Dumisani Masilela.
Under the memorandum, the parties will develop common approaches to revenue from illegal activities, cooperation in the implementation of development programs concerning regional and international agreements and conventions whether bilateral or multilateral.
Commenting on the matters dealt with by the preparatory group, Amelia Nakhare said that they would assist not only her counterpart but also Mozambique in the context of the Southern Africa Development Community fight for the betterment of its people.
