Mozambique: State revenues from concessions up 40% last year to €76.5M
The Mozambican metical remained stable against the Euro and the US dollar last week, as it has broadly since the end of August.
In average terms, last week, the Euro was bought in the country at 72.65 meticais, a metical cent more than the previous week’s average.
In turn, the sale was made at 74.04 meticais for each Euro, two metical cents more expensive according to the weekly averages determined by Lusa from Bank of Mozambique figures.
The average purchase price for the Euro during the week ranged between 72.29 and 72.87 meticais, while the asking price ranged between 73.69 and 74.27 meticais.
The Mozambican currency depreciated against the Euro in the last week of August, but since then the average weekly changes have been less than metical 10 cents of.
The Mozambican currency has been appreciating since September 2016, when the Euro cost 88 meticais.
Since then, the Mozambican currency’s best rate was in May, when the Euro was worth 65.91 meticais.
In relation to the US dollar, the Mozambican currency was practically unchanged in the past week, with purchase averages at 60.72 and sale at 61.88 meticais.
