Bank of Mozambique launches Real-time Gross Settlement Platform
The Mozambican currency appreciated against the Euro for the sixth consecutive week, according to the Bank of Mozambique’s daily average exchange rates, followed by Lusa.
Since the beginning of April, appreciation against the Euro has been around five meticais.
In average terms, in the last week, the Euro was bought in the country at 70.59 meticais, 45 metical cents less than the previous week.
The sale was made at 71.94 meticais, 50 metical cents less.
The daily average purchase price of the Euro ranged between 70.30 and 71 meticais, while the asking price ranged between 71.67 and 72.32 meticais.
Against the US dollar, the Mozambican currency remained almost unchanged last week.
The US dollar is the currency which is used as the calculation basis for the exchange rates of other currencies in Mozambique.
During the past week, the US dollar was bought in the country at 59.32 meticais on average, 20 metical cents more than the previous week.
The sale was made at 60.46 meticais per US dollar, 17 metical cents more.
The daily average of the purchase price of the US dollar ranged between 59.21 and 59.48 meticais, while the sale price ranged between 60.34 and 60.58 meticais.
