Mozambique: Curfew decreed in Ibo district - AIM report
Miramar
The water restriction measures which came into force in January 2017 are still in place and, with the end of the rainy season, the water sector is to meet to draw up a new plan that may be even more severe.
The rainy season has already officially ended and Maputo Water Company will soon be assessing the situation and drawing up a new schedule of restrictions that may be even stricter than the current one.
Restrictions will be aim at preserving water so that is remains available to all, Miramar reports.
Restrictions are still in force, and we must continue to save water, Maputo Water says. In many districts of the country’s capital, scarce water is a reality, and restraint necessary.
In order to minimise the impact of water restrictions, Maputo Water has reactivated water holes and sunk new ones in neighbourhoods including Ferroviário, Zona Verde, Guava, Hulene B and 3 de Fevereiro.
