Mozambique: 'Man-Genas' family repatriated to Angola - reports
O País
Two men were found dead last Saturday morning in a stream in the Picuco area of Belo Horizonte, Matola. Both victims, found inside a vehicle submerged in water, were teachers. The first, Adérito Fuel, taught English language at Eduardo Mondlane University, and the second, Armando Manjate, taught at the Vilanculos Teacher Training College in Inhambane.
The brother of one of the ill-fated pair, Hilário Fuel, said he last heard from the two friends on March 19. Later, worried by their absence, he contacted police stations, hospitals and morgues, but without news.
“We realised that our brother, Adérito Fuel, was missing on the morning of March 19, after realizing that he had not returned home, and we began to look for him, but with no result. So we decided to find out who the friend he had gone out with was. We found out it was Armando Manjate, so we contacted the Manjate family, but instead of any positive response, we learned that they were also apprehensive about the disappearance of their loved one,” Adérito’s older brother said.
The two families had to wait for social networks to help them locate the missing pair. News of the disappearance circulated for several days before any news surfaced, but on Sunday morning, police asked the Fuel family to come to the stream in Belo Horizonte to identify the bodies.
They certified that it was indeed Adérito Fuel and Armando Manjate in the submerged vehicle. The couple apparently showed no sign of assault, and Hilario Fuel said the police investigating the two deaths would release a statement on Monday.
