Maputo Central Hospital (HCM) has requested increased blood donations against the expected rise in demand over Christmas and New Year.
Clinical director Farida Urci warns that the HCM emergency department is low on blood, the Notícias newspaper reports.
The objective is to increase stocks in order to be able to respond to accidents or illness over the festive season, when a foreseeable increase in demand coincides with a reduction in donations as institutions where collections are usually carried out, such as schools, close for the holidays.
