China tech plan threat to foreign firms

Accumulated revenues at Macau’s casinos amounted to billion 223.210 patacas (US$27.901 billion), which was a contraction of 3.3% over the amount recorded in 2015, according to information from the Macau Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.
The revenues recorded in 2015, in the amount of 230.840 billion patacas, represented an annual decrease of 34.3% compared to 351.521 billion patacas in 2014, a year in which the contraction was 2.6%.
In December, revenues from Macau’s casinos increased for the fifth consecutive month, by 8.0% to 19.815 billion patacas (US$2.477 billion).
The reversal of the downward trend in gaming revenues began in August 2016, with an annual increase of 1.1%, after a series of 26 consecutive months of negative growth.
At the end of the first half of 2015 there were 38 casinos in Macau, 20 run by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, six by Galaxy Casino, five by Venetian Macau, four by Melco Crown Gaming (Macau), two by Wynn Resorts (Macau) and one by MGM Grand Paradise, which had a total of 6,304 gambling tables and 15,769 slot machines.
Over the next two years there are plans to open three new tourist complexes with casinos on the Cotai landfill area between the islands of Coloane and Taipa.Source: Macauhub
