Those dying of hunger are idiots - Uganda minister
President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday evening held a meeting with a team of US senators led by James Inhofe of the Armed Services Committee.Their discussions centred on security in the Horn of Africa and threats posed by Al-Shabaab and ISIS.
Kenyatta said Kenya and Somalia are working to contain insecurity in Somalia. “Somalia is still very fragile, but we continue partnering on matters of security.”
Other senators with Inhofe are Michael Enzi (Homeland Security Committee), John Boozman and Shelley Mooore Capito of the Appropriations Committee.
They were accompanied to the meeting with President Kenyatta by Tim Walberg of the House Committee on Energy and US Ambassador to Kenya Robert Godec.
The lawmakers arrived in Kenya from Uganda, and will head to Kigali (Rwanda) Friday and to Ethiopia later next week.
Kenyatta announced Kenya’s plans to modernise its military, and said it would appreciate any assistance from the US in this area.
