Nyusi calls for "pro-active stance"
RM / Ivone Soares, Renamo's deputy
Renamo chief whip Ivone Soares believes that the meeting between President Nyusi and Renamo leader Afonso Dhlakama at Gorongosa in Sofala was an important step towards peace in Mozambique.
Soares said that the efforts of the head of state and the Renamo leader would accelerate the work of the teams on the decentralisation of the state and military matters.
The head of Renamo’s parliamentary bench was speaking in Maputo on Friday after a census team led by National Statistics Institute president Rosario Fernandes visited her household.
Soares called on Mozambicans to cooperate with census teams and help provide reliable data for the government to design appropriate development policies.
