Mozambique: Poacher gets 30 years in prison after being found guilty of killing 42 lions
Jornal Domingo
The National Inspection of Economic Activities (INAE) has ordered the Huayang Mozambique Plastic Waste Recycling company in the Machava administrative post, Matola, to suspend activities, because of the excessive garbage accumulating in the area where it is operating.
Our reporter on the spot noted that the plastic recycling company had a large amount of sewage on its premises, producing an odour that is breathed daily by its workers and residents of the surrounding area.
In addition to the foul odour, workers carry out their activities without adequate means of protection, such as gloves, masks, boots and uniform, and, at the end of the day, bathe in the middle of garbage surrounded by uncovered cesspits.
In addition, the space that serves as the women’s changing room has a waist-high fence and no roof, and is surrounded by stagnant water and garbage. This is where the Huayang’s female workers clean themselves off and change their clothes, often under the curious gaze of their male colleagues and bosses.
