Zimbabwe, Botswana and Mozambique revive massive railway project
The Secretary-General of Forum Macau said in Maputo that the Forum will promote measures for the development of Mozambique within the framework of the cooperation agreed during the ministerial conference held in Macau.
Xu Yingzhen was speaking on Wednesday at the end of a meeting with Prime Minister Carlos Agostinho do Rosário to discuss Sino-Mozambican cooperation, which both said was important in the areas of agriculture, increased productive capacity and improvement of the Mozambican industrial sector with the support of China.
“We are going to promote and implement the action plan for economic and trade cooperation, as well as materialise the memorandum of understanding for raising Mozambique’s production capacity,” she said, referring to the decisions taken at the ministerial conference of Forum Macau, which was attended by the Mozambican prime minister.
The forum is committed to helping promote Mozambique’s development by facilitating access to Chinese funding for the various projects to be implemented in the country.
Xu Yingzhen recalled that the work of Forum Macau is mainly intended to “promote projects in China and Portuguese-speaking countries, but companies have to negotiate financing with financial institutions taking into account the feasibility of their projects and markets.”Source: Macauhub
