Mozambican cooperatives have been participating in a training course with the title “Financial and Business Education – Knowing Your Numbers” since Tuesday.
The course is intended to improve cooperatives’ skills, teaching them the basic principles of financial accounting and how to apply this knowledge to identify opportunities, challenges, and ways to solve problems that arise when developing businesses.
Participant Joaquim Mondlane said: “It is always useful to raise the level of knowledge, particularly since our country requires more entrepreneurs in the applicability of ideas, as well as in the organization, attendance, interaction and improvement of results in the buying and selling of products.”
Laurinda Nhatumbo said that the course was designed to teach how to handle the business from the provider to the investment, applying fair prices so as to serve all better and improve the dynamic in our society.
Course administrator Ercia Bila said that “when it comes to cooperatives, it is imperative that they know how a business works and treat suppliers and buyers well, as well as knowing how to recover from slip-ups”.
The event took place at the headquarters of the Mozambican Association for the Promotion of Cooperatives, with SBFIC support.
