The Café Continental coffee bar in central Maputo was closed by the National Inspection of Economic Activities (INAE) yesterday afternoon on the grounds of hygiene irregularities.
Inspectors also found out-of-date food, poor sanitation and garbage management and cats in the kitchen. In addition to the suspension, the establishment will be fined the equivalent of 40 times the minimum monthly wage.
INAE Inspector-General Maria Freitas told ‘Noticias’ that for the establishment to operate in such conditions constituted an attack on public health.
