The three defendants allegedly involved in the corruption scheme in the purchase of Embraer aircraft for Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM) were detained today.
They are Paulo Zucula, former Minister of Transport and Communications, José Viegas, former chairperson of Mozambique Airlines (LAM), and Mateus Zimba, former manager of a private company.
Abdul Gani, lawyer of José Viegas, Tomás Timbane, lawyer of Mateus Zimba, and Damião Cumbane, lawyer of Paulo Zucula, confirmed the arrests.
The case is related to bribes allegedly received in the purchase of embraer aircraft by the Mozambique Airlines.
