File
The Republic of Mozambique has just suspended the importation and transit of live poultry and wild birds as well as of fresh or frozen bird meat from the Republic of Zimbabwe, DR Congo and South Africa.
The suspension follows an outbreak of highly pathogenic H5N8 Avian Influenza or bird flu, reads a statement from the National Veterinary Department cited by Noticias.
The communique specifies that the ban includes 1-day-old chicks, fertile and consuming eggs, products of poultry origin for use in animal feed or for agricultural or industrial purposes.
All products originating from poultry not mentioned above, except products processed and heat-treated, are hereby prohibited.
