U.S. Embassy in Mozambique recruits business delegations for Trade Shows in the United States
Theatre: A boca (The mouth)- Makwerhu theatral group
Piece inspired by what happened to Carlos Cardoso, Siba Siba Macuacua or Gilles Cistac.
A BOCA - a theatrical play written by a young Mozambican artist known as Estreanty, who came to know the performing arts through the theater group Makwerhu of the Mavalane B neighborhood in 2003. From 2005 to 2009, he participated in different workshops lasting one to three weeks, organized by different NGOs, mainly with the aim of forming activist actors. From 2011, Estreanty started attending Centro Cultural Franco Moçambicano, where he participated in different workshops of scenic arts such as juggling, dance, theatre, magic, stilts, acrobatica, puppets ..
BOCA is one of the results of this journey. A sinfully naked work (according to Grotowisk - poor theatre), where the human body is several times used to create the scenery. The rhythm is greatly enriched by the flexibility of the actors, singing and dancing.
In terms of content, BOCA speaks of freedom of expression and its consequences in the world, in particular from the political point of view. Who makes us travel in this world is the character Jhotamo, who is a young man of 25 years in love with journalism but trained in the medical field by the most recognized public university in the country. On the day of his graduation, Constantino, a journalist and Jhotamo's father, is shot dead.
The desire for revenge and his passion for journalism, make Jhotamo abandon his area of formation and occupy his father's post in writing. Friends of the father advise him not to touch on this subject, highlighting the dangers, and advise him to only disclose sports news. But Jhotamo insists and ventures in the hope of spreading the identity of his father's killer.
