Seminar of the Cinema Museum project, with the Belgian historian Guido Convents, who intends to transform his book "Mozambicans before the cinema and audiovisual" into a series of materials for pedagogical use. Guido Convents , born in 1956, studied in Louvain ( Katholieke Universiteit Leuven ) and Lisbon (Faculdade das Lettras). He is a Belgian historian and anthropologist , specialist and author of numerous scientific bibliographical references on the subject of non - Western cinema and especially that of colonial and contemporary Africa 1 , the history of the fair and the fair, the cinema and the Catholics 2 , early cinema in Belgium (1894-1914) and cinema during the First World War with special attention to the German occupation policy in Belgium. Since the 1980s , Guido Convents has been publishing on cinema in Africa, and particularly to Portuguese-speaking countries in Africa - notably Mozambique - 4 , Belgian Congo , Ruanda-Urundi , Zaire , Democratic Republic of Congo , Rwanda and Burundi . In 2006, he released his book Images et démocratie. The Congolese face the cinema and the audiovisual. A political-cultural history of Congo from the Belgians to the Democratic Republic of Congo (1896-2006). Over the years he has given numerous lectures in Africa and Europe on this subject.
