On the day the Lei Áurea was proclaimed, some Portuguese decided to go to Mozambique to do the last slave trade to Brazil.
At that time the slave trade was intense, where Goans and Portuguese married daughters of local chiefs through their xicundas captured men, women and children and marketed ivory.
The revolt of some women was notorious in the liberation of some slaves.
