Launching Ceremony “KWIRI” by Roberto Chitsondzo Book Album
Roberto Chitsondzo releases book and solo album. "It was with a tin guitar that I learned to play", this is the phrase that Roberto Chitsondzo does not forget when he talks about his artistic career. So, 2017, is the year that Chitsondzo settles his career with the edition of his noble debut: Kwiri. A work that opens spaces to expose the different dimensions of his music.
Kwiri, in a book-disc format - a new approach to artistic and cultural presentation in Mozambique - portrays Roberto Chitsondzo's journey: his childhood in Xai-Xai, his passing through teaching as a physical education teacher, his first musical appearance until Ghorwane (his second family), his political militancy, parliamentary life, and the journey to Kwiri's conception. This work is made of places, meetings, displeasures and, finally, joy. Kwiri, is a work that dialogues with the country.
The work has the participation- with testimonies and unpublished texts - of several segments that make or constitute the Chitsondzo path: family (eg Bertina Chitsondzo, Leonor Chitsondzo, Luís Bila), friends (eg, Elisio Macamo, Jaime Cuambe, Marcelo Panguana ), politicians (eg, Ivone Soares, Mateus Katupa, Manuel Tomé), writers (eg, Mia Couto, Paulina Chiziane) and musicians who give a sublime richness to the disc (eg Ernesto Ndzevo, Yolanda Kakana, Jimmy Dludlu, Moreira Chonguiça, Nelton Miranda). Kwiri, is the first work edited by Khuzula under artistic direction and executive Paulo Chibanga and counted on the editorial coordination of the writer Cremildo Bahule. With the work Kwiri, Chitsondzo does not abdicate Ghorwane.
He is still a member of the Ghorwane family. With Kwiri, Chitsondzo, wants to show and dialogue in an intimate way with his audience and offer the scent of his melody. That is why Khuzula and Roberto Chitsondzo, are preparing to launch this work in the first fortnight of December, as a way of sharing this feat of Roberto that "is a singer who not only was born in Mozambique, but also is true. Mozambique is born of him, the talent of someone who sings to us all and who celebrates the places and names we have without us knowing it before. "
