Launch of the book “Ignition of Dreams” by Melita Matsinhe
Poet and pianist Melita Matsinhe has been participating in literary movements in Maputo. It was in the literary nucleus Café with Libro where it dawned. And through the conversations and literary workshops organized by FFLC cemented the desire to move the poetry of music to writing. IGNITION OF DREAMS is the result of this. She was born in Inhambane, Mozambique and she grew up in the music world. The passion for poetry developed discreetly and imperceptibly. She received a scholarship from UNESCO, having studied in music pedagogy and piano performance at the National School of Music in Havana, Cuba. There arose the great questions of life. She deepened the aesthetic sense, the poetry of the arts and dance. Melita discovered the interconnection between classical and street art, religion and music, divine and profane. Pianist and singer, Melita is passionate about children, so she created and directs the Xiluva Arts Center, aimed at the artistic training of children and adolescents. The artist is also director of the "Njingiritana", Children Festival, and Children's Literature Contest "Flowers that never wilt".
Master in History and Musicology from the University of Oslo, Melita has extensive international experience as a program manager of Arts and Culture. Ignition of Dreams is her first work of poetry.
