Exhibition: The retina dance
Emídio Jozine was born in Mozambique in 1982. He graduated in Graphic Design from ENAV - National School of Visual Arts, and in Photography at the Center for Documentation and Photographic Training. He won the photography prize promoted by AMF - Mozambican Photography Association in 2008, which culminated in his first solo exhibition.
He was also Professor of Photography in the community of Maciene in 2009 within the framework of the project "Art Community".
Jozine has worked for several years with national and foreign choreographers and dancers. Of note, it was in the Kinani that he debuted his works on contemporary dance in his second exhibition "Em dueto".
In 2011, he exhibited "Grooves of My Soul" at Galeria 23 in Amsterdam (The Netherlands).
In 2012, he exhibited works on Amsterdam in São Tomé and Príncipe, at the invitation of the Dutch Consulate.
In 2015 he had his fourth solo photography exhibition in Goa, India with works on Mozambique he created during a road trip from Maputo to Malawi.
Jozine is also licensed in Cinematography by the Gerrit Rietveld Academie of Amsterdam. He has works published in the photography books of United Photo Press and was the winner of the 3rd national prize of Photography promoted by MUSART in 2016.
In the area of cinematography Jozine holds two international awards in the category of Best Director and Best Film, at the Ver festival.
He has collaborated in several cinematographic projects both in Mozambique and abroad as director of lighting, editor and assistant camera.
