Conversation and Exhibition “Maputo My Love”
A look at the city by José Pinto Sá
Photography, Poetry and Conversation (Exhibition at the FFLC Library from July 11 to July 26).
"I was born in Beira, Sofala, in 1948, but I usually live in Maputo. I photographed the city because I love it, it's my city. I do not see myself as a photographer, but rather as someone who uses photography among several other languages, I walk every day in the neighborhood of the city and I photograph for about three hours, using (In partnership with Cristina Tavares) and publish it on Facebook .All my work (photographic or other) is in the public domain. Therefore, in the case of this exhibition I can guarantee the exclusivity of the prints here for sale, but I can not guarantee they are unique. To be honest, I hope they are not. I hope some netizen (Internet user) in Hangzhou, in Kuala Lumpur or on the outskirts of Helsinki, like my photos, print them and stick them on the wall, not knowing who José Sá is or understand the language in which I write the (meager) subtitles. This is my target audience, the purpose of my job, if any. Maybe you do not have one. Or rather, it takes the solitude of being its own goal. "
