Children’s Theater: The mystery of the empty pan
The mystery of the empty pot is a children's play adapted from the short story by the Mozambican writer Harith Morgadinho Farooq. The play is part of the project "Workshop of theater and children's tales", which aims to encourage reading and writing through play activities and impact on the education of school-age children. Stories and myths are recreated and illustrated to reveal the richness of Mozambican imagery and bring it closer to its children in theater format.
In a village in northern Mozambique, every Sunday was football day among the boys. Among them were two brothers, Tomás and Mateus. One Sunday, when they return home, they are famished, they come across the messy kitchen and the pots are all empty. Who would have vandalized the kitchen and eaten all the food the mother had prepared? The brothers decide to go in search of the alleged culprit, posing as detectives in the bush and investigating the whole village, including animals.
