Celebration of the life and work of Guimarães Rosa
Special literary table in homage to the life and work of Guimarães Rosa, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his death. Led by Nataniel Ngomane, the event aims to bring together writers, readers and admirers of his work by one of the greatest Brazilian writers in history.
João Guimarães Rosa (1908 - 1967) was a Brazilian writer, diplomat and physician, considered one of the greatest Brazilian writers of all time. His literary work stands out mainly for the innovations of language, being marked by the influence of popular and regional speeches that, added to the erudition of the author, allowed the creation of numerous words from archaisms and popular words.
After the literary table, there will be a presentation of a litero-musical of "The Third Margin of Rio", inspired by the famous short story of Guimarães Rosa, in dramatic reading by the Brazilian actor Expedito Araújo, accompanied by a special live music.
